This policy explains how HearBuyers (“HearBuyers”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data. It covers two very different groups of people: people who email us about the early beta, and people whose public posts HearBuyers will read once it launches. Both are covered below.
What this site collects today
HearBuyers is in early beta. This site has no sign-up form and collects nothing through forms. The box at the top of the home page only opens an email in your own mail client; nothing you type there is sent to us unless you send that email.
If you email abhi@hearbuyers.com, we keep what you send, such as your name, your email address and who you are trying to find, to reply to you and to manage access to the beta. We do not sell it, rent it or add you to anyone else's list.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, time of request) for security and reliability. The source icons on the page load from the Simple Icons CDN, which receives your IP address when it serves them.
How HearBuyers will process public posts
When it launches, HearBuyers will read public posts and comments on the sources listed in our coverage table, look for ones where someone describes a problem a customer has asked us to watch for, and send that customer the match. A match can include:
- the text of the public post and a link to it
- the author's public handle, and role and company where those are on a public profile
- a work email, only when it can be verified. We never guess or construct one
- a score and a short label describing how close the post is to a buying decision
- a reply drafted for the customer's team, which is only posted if a person on that team approves it and posts it
We read public content only. We do not log in as anyone, read private messages, closed groups or anything behind a login, and we do not collect special categories of data on purpose. Matches are kept only as long as the customer they were found for needs them, and we will delete posts that have been removed at the source when we learn of it.
Our basis for this is legitimate interest: helping people who publicly ask for help find someone who can provide it, while keeping the processing limited to what they chose to publish. Customers are bound by our terms not to use matches for harassment, spam that breaks the law, or anything the platform's own rules forbid.
How to be excluded
Anyone can ask us to stop processing their posts, whether or not they have seen a match about themselves. Email abhi@hearbuyers.com with the subject “Exclusion request” and a link to your profile or a post. We will add you to a suppression list so future posts are never matched, delete matches we hold about you, and confirm by reply. We aim to do this within 7 days.
Who we share data with
- Vercel, which hosts this site
- our email provider, which holds the messages you send us
- after launch, the customer whose buyer description a match was found for
- authorities, when the law requires it
Some of these providers process data outside India. We use providers who protect it to a comparable standard.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to abhi@hearbuyers.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Emails about beta access are deleted when you ask, or 24 months after your last message if you have not joined the beta by then.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for people in the beta, tell you by email before the change applies.
