Best time to post on Reddit

updated 17 October 2026

Every community keeps its own hours, so Reddit has no single best time to post. Enter a subreddit and this tool reads its 100 newest posts. It shows a grid of when they went up, in your time zone, and the three hours where posts got the most replies on average.

r/

How to read it

  • Dark squares are busy hours. More people are reading then, but your post competes with more new posts.
  • The three cards are the hours with the highest average replies. Only hours with at least three posts count.
  • In B2B communities, weekday mornings in the community's main time zone often come up. Check your own community rather than trusting a rule of thumb.

For B2B sellers, timing matters less than you'd think

If you're replying to someone who asked for a recommendation, reply soon after they asked, whatever the hour. Timing matters more when you start your own thread. That's why HearBuyers scans on a schedule and sends you buying questions while they're fresh.

Limits

The sample is the 100 newest posts. In a busy community that can be a single day, and in a quiet one several weeks. A pinned thread or a busy news day can skew it. Results are cached for two days.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to post on Reddit?

It depends on the subreddit, so check the community you're posting in. The busy hours aren't always the hours that get replies.

Does posting time affect upvotes?

It changes how many people see your post while it's new, and that affects early votes and replies.
