Reddit post date finder
updated 17 October 2026
Reddit shows "3y ago" instead of a date. Paste a post's link and this tool shows exactly when it went up, in your own time zone and in UTC. Full links, short redd.it links and post ids all work.
Why the date matters
Check a thread's age before you reply to it. A two-year-old "looking for a tool" post has usually been solved already, and a reply to it looks like spam. Reddit threads often rank in Google for years, so you'll land on old ones a lot.
How to find a Reddit post's date yourself
On desktop, hover over the "time ago" label next to the author's name and Reddit shows the full date. Mobile makes this harder, and that's where this tool helps.
Limits
It works for posts, not individual comments. Removed posts may not return a date. Adult posts are excluded.
Frequently asked questions
