GummySearch vs F5Bot: one is closed, so what do you use now?
updated 18 October 2026 · facts about other products checked 17 October 2026 from their own pages
GummySearch closed on 30 November 2025, and new signups are no longer possible. F5Bot is still running and covers part of what GummySearch did: it emails you when your keywords show up on Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters. It doesn't do GummySearch's audience research, such as finding communities, grouping pain points or summarizing themes. F5Bot works for alerts. For research you'll need something else.
Facts come from each product's own pages, checked on 17 October 2026.

What happened to GummySearch
The closing notice, dated 30 November 2025, said GummySearch was shutting down to comply with Reddit's policies, which it described as forbidding commercial applications. New signups stopped. Active subscribers kept access until the end of their billing period, for no more than a year. Free users could only export or delete their data. Lifetime-deal holders have access until 30 November 2026.

What F5Bot replaces, and what it does not
F5Bot takes over keyword tracking through notifications. Add the phrases you tracked in GummySearch, such as competitor names or "alternative to" lines, and it emails you the matching posts and comments. Silver gives 20 keywords and Gold gives 200. Gold also adds AI filtering that you describe in plain language.
It doesn't replace theme analysis. There's no community discovery, no saved audiences and no grouped pain points. For that you'd run searches by hand or use another tool.
Pick GummySearch if... pick F5Bot if...
GummySearch isn't an option for new work. Existing lifetime-deal holders keep access until 30 November 2026, so export your saved data before then. Pick F5Bot if you mostly used the alerts and want something free or cheap. Pick another tool if you were there for the research reports.
Where HearBuyers fits
HearBuyers wasn't built to copy GummySearch, but it covers one part of the job. It reads X and Reddit, scores each post from 0 to 100 for buying intent, highlights the sentence that shows the need and drafts a reply for a person to approve. The GummySearch alternatives page compares replacements in more depth, and Reddit keyword alerts covers the alert side.
Next step: export your GummySearch keywords and saved communities, then add the keywords to F5Bot or paste your website into HearBuyers.
