Mention review: what it does, what it costs, who it fits
updated 18 October 2026 · facts about other products checked 17 October 2026 from their own pages
Mention is a social listening and media monitoring tool. Its home page says Agorapulse has acquired it. This review covers what the home and pricing pages listed when we checked them on 17 October 2026. We give no star rating and don't use reviews from other sites. The product is called Mention and the website is mention.com.

What Mention is
The home page says Mention monitors over a billion sources in real time and keeps data for up to two years. It offers keyword-based and page-based alerts, influence and sentiment indicators, reports and dashboards, and share of voice.
Setup
You set up alerts yourself. A Standard Alert uses a query builder. An Advanced Alert takes a custom Boolean query of up to 2,000 characters. Notifications arrive by email or desktop push.
Sources
The pricing page lists Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube "and more", plus news, blogs, forums and more than 75 review sites, including Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Amazon and Glassdoor. It also lists advanced Boolean search.
Features
The Company plan includes sentiment, competitor benchmarking, custom reports and dashboards, share of voice, influence scoring, team collaboration with assignment and roles, white-label reports, Slack and Zapier integrations, a dedicated account manager, custom onboarding and priority support.
According to the FAQ, the Publish and Respond features are being progressively deprecated, and Agorapulse is the recommended replacement for publishing and responding.
Pricing
The pricing page shows one plan, Company, described as a complete media monitoring solution tailored to your organization's scale. On 17 October 2026 the price field read "Starting at $ per month" with no number, in both the page source and a rendered browser, and the button said "Get a demo". We treat the price as not listed. Paying yearly gets you two months free, according to the page. Historical data and developer access are not included and are sold as paid add-ons. The home page links to a free trial, which goes to an Agorapulse trial page, and the site lists discounts for non-profits.
Questions to ask before you buy
Because the plan is quoted rather than listed, these questions are worth raising on a demo:
- What is the yearly price, and what does the two-month discount apply to?
- Do you need historical data or developer access? Both are paid add-ons.
- Which sources, and how many review sites, are included in your quote?
- If you used Publish and Respond, what replaces them, and does that mean buying Agorapulse?
Who it fits
Mention fits communications teams and agencies that want broad media monitoring with review-site coverage, share of voice and white-label reporting, and that don't mind buying through a demo. It may suit you best if you already use Agorapulse or plan to.
What its pages don't list
These are not criticisms. We looked on the home and pricing pages and did not find:
- A published price.
- A buying-intent score.
- Reply drafting. Respond is being deprecated.
How HearBuyers differs
HearBuyers reads X and Reddit only. It starts from your company website, scores each post from 0 to 100 for buying intent, highlights the sentence that shows the need, and drafts a reply for a person to approve and post. It does not monitor news, blogs or review sites. HearBuyers is free for 14 days with no card, then from $19 a month.
See the Mention alternative page, the guide to brand monitoring tools, or social listening tools.
