Best Twitter (X) monitoring tools in 2026: eleven compared
updated 18 October 2026 · facts about other products checked 18 October 2026 from their own pages
Twitter, now X, has search and a multi-column workspace in X Pro, but nothing we found on X's own help pages emails you when a keyword appears. X Pro only shows what you have open, so if you want alerts while you're away you'll generally need a monitoring tool. This guide compares eleven that watch X. A few cover only X; most cover it alongside other sources. Prices come from each tool's own pricing page as of 17 and 18 October 2026.
Which one fits depends on whether you want mentions of your brand or posts from people who need what you sell. Brand mentions call for volume and reporting. Buyer posts call for filters and a way to reply.

How we ordered this list
We start with X's own tool and a free search, then go through multi-platform monitors from cheapest to broadest, and end with tools that score posts or draft replies for buyers. HearBuyers is labelled as ours. Where a vendor's X coverage depends on the plan, we say so. For query syntax, see our X search operators cheat sheet.
Prices are the plan names and figures each vendor shows on its own pricing page, checked on 17 and 18 October 2026. Plans change, so confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.

How to choose
- Decide brand or buyers. Brand monitoring needs volume and reports. Buyer monitoring needs scoring and replies.
- Check how X is covered. Several tools limit X to paid plans or cap X keywords.
- Test speed. See how quickly new posts appear, and whether that matters to you. A reply two days late rarely helps.
- Check delivery. Email, Slack and webhooks suit different teams.
- Keep queries tight. Use phrases and exclusions from our X search recipes.
- Stay inside the rules. Reply by hand, and don't send unsolicited bulk messages.
X Pro and advanced search let you save searches, but X's help pages don't describe email alerts for them. If you want an email or message, use a monitoring tool.
