How to get B2B clients: find people already asking

checked 16 October 2026 · 18 requests found in 100 posts judged

The best leads for a B2B company are people who have already posted that they need a vendor or supplier. Someone who is actively looking has a need right now, so you can answer it instead of trying to create interest.

We checked 100 public Reddit posts from the last 12 months on 2026-10-16 and found 18 people asking for a vendor or supplier. The requests came up most often in r/linkbuilding, r/CommercialAV, r/EmailOutreach, and r/Cisco.

How they ask for it

Requests from public posts, paraphrased with anything identifying removed. These are samples, not quotes.

  • I need a fulfillment partner that can supply about 400 monthly niche blog placements meeting DR 30+, 500+ traffic, and mostly US audiences.
  • I need a vendor or repair technician to troubleshoot a microphone system and restore pool speakers on a Q Sys installation.
  • I need a mass email platform for about 600 prospect emails that does not require inbox warmup and offers accessible startup level support.
  • I need a vendor for a support contract on an FPR1010 and trial or demo installers for CUCM 15.
  • I need a vendor to produce a workplace training video with AI, including English narration, captions, and on screen text.
  • I need a supplier for customized poly mailer packaging in the Delhi NCR region.

92Worth answering

I run a link building agency and we deliver about 400 links each month. I need a fulfillment partner who can provide niche specific blog domains regularly across several industries. We have defined authority, traffic, audience location, and content relevance requirements for approvals.

Why: Actively seeking a partner to fulfill ongoing service demand.

95Worth answering

I manage a venue with an audio system issue affecting a microphone setup and a group of speakers. I need a vendor or break fix technician who can diagnose and resolve the problem. The environment uses a professional audio platform and we can share details directly.

Why: Has a specific operational issue and is requesting service help.

What a request worth answering looks like

  • The person has a clear problem and wants help soon.
  • They describe specific requirements, scope, industry, or technical needs.
  • They mention pricing, budget limits, purchasing timelines, or approval processes.
  • They ask for recommendations, suppliers, vendors, or companies to contact. Posts that only discuss ideas or general trends are usually weaker signals.
Bar chart of requests by community: r/linkbuilding 1, r/CommercialAV 1, r/EmailOutreach 1, r/Cisco 1.

How to reply without getting removed

  • Answer the question first and give useful information.
  • If you recommend your own services, say that you are a B2B company.
  • Stick to what they asked for and don't turn the reply into a sales pitch.
  • Don't post links unless the person asks for them or the community allows them.
  • Check each community's rules before you post.
18 of 18 requests were on Reddit and 0 on X.

A 20-minute weekly routine

  1. Find recent posts where people ask for a vendor, supplier, or recommendations.
  2. Read the request and check whether it matches the work your company does.
  3. Write a helpful reply that covers the requirements they listed.
  4. Come back later to answer follow up questions and keep the conversation going.

B2B lead generation, from public requests

Lead generation for B2B companies usually means buying lists or running outbound. Public requests work the other way round: the buyer writes first. Of the 100 posts we judged, 18 were people asking for a vendor or supplier, and the most came from r/linkbuilding. That is a short, warm list you can answer yourself, and HearBuyers reads for it every day. How these numbers compare with other niches is in where B2B buyers ask for help.
