Find people complaining about a tool on X

updated 17 October 2026

People complain before they switch. This search finds posts containing "so frustrated with", "fed up with", "done with" or "sick of", and leaves reposts out. Put a competitor's name or your category in "all of these words" to see who's unhappy.

In a cluttered garage, a mechanic raccoon frowns at a sputtering wrench while glancing toward a tidy rack of working replacements.

Sample result

"Fed up with Tool A logging me out every hour. Third support ticket this month." (sample)

Scored 58. The frustration is real, but they aren't looking yet. Keep an eye on it and don't pitch.

Tune it

  • Pair it with a competitor name. Without one, most results are about airlines and phone carriers.
  • Add product words ("support", "pricing", "bug") so the results stay about software.

How to reply

Don't pitch someone who is complaining. Help with the problem if you can ("that logout issue is usually the session setting under…"), or leave it alone. If they ask for an alternative later, the alternative search will catch it, and they may remember you helped.

Where this fits

Complaints about a named tool are early competitor monitoring. The person isn't shopping yet, but often will be. To read complaints as research rather than leads, see customer pain points.
