Find outage frustration on X

updated 17 October 2026

Outages make people angry fast, and the anger usually fades just as fast. This search finds "is down", "outage", "not loading" and "broken again" next to a product name, and leaves out reposts and replies. Use it to see when a competitor is having a bad day, not to pitch people while the outage is still going on.

During a storm, a traveler stands beside a dark lighthouse whose beam has gone out, while distant lights on the horizon draw attention.

Sample result

"Tool A down again. That's twice this week and we have a client demo at 3." (sample)

Scored 45. The pain is real, but this person wants the outage fixed and has no use for a sales pitch.

How to use it well

  • Watch what they post next. Someone saying "we need something more reliable" is a buyer, and the alternative search will catch it.
  • If you can help ("their status page says it's a login issue, the desktop app still works"), help.
  • Never pile on. People notice when vendors swarm an outage.

Where this fits

During an outage, a competitor's customers start looking around, so this search belongs in your competitor monitoring. Frustration with a vendor is also one of the sales signals that predicts a switch.
