Mentionlytics alternative: when you need buyers, not a dashboard

facts about Mentionlytics checked on 17 October 2026 from its own pages

Mentionlytics is a brand monitoring and social listening platform. It tracks keywords across the web and a long list of social networks, and adds AI sentiment, share of voice and reporting. If you want a Mentionlytics alternative because you're after the people asking for what you sell, not a dashboard of mentions, HearBuyers does that narrower job on X and Reddit. It scores each post from 0 to 100 for buying intent and drafts a reply that a person approves.

This page covers what Mentionlytics does as of 17 October 2026, who it suits better, and how to move over. Facts about Mentionlytics come from its pricing page.

What Mentionlytics does

You create keyword rules and Mentionlytics collects mentions from the sources in your plan. Its comparison table lists the web (news, blogs, forums and any website), X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Bluesky, Threads, Telegram, RSS and podcasts, with reviews as an add-on. We couldn't tell which source comes with which plan.

The feature list is long. It includes AI sentiment, emotion analysis, translation, an assistant it calls the Social Intelligence Advisor, anomaly detection, mention clustering, comment summaries, a chatbot, and analysis of images, video and audio. There are also dashboards, share of voice, ad value equivalent, Boolean search and scheduled email reports. Teams sort mentions with tags, assignment and automation rules. A publishing module lets you draft, schedule and publish posts. Integrations include Slack, Hootsuite, Looker Studio, Power BI, developer access and an MCP connection.

Who Mentionlytics suits better

Mentionlytics fits marketing and communications teams that report on brand perception across many channels, and agencies that need client accounts, white-label reports and share-of-voice figures. Pick it if you also want to publish and respond from the same tool, or if your audience is on TikTok, Threads, Telegram or the wider web. HearBuyers reads none of those.

Its pricing page lists no buying-intent score and no reply drafting. To find buyers with it, you write keyword rules and judge the results yourself.

What to look for in a replacement

  • A clear goal. Reputation, research and lead finding each need different filters.
  • Keyword rules versus problem statements. Buyers rarely type your category name, so a tool that learns how they describe the problem finds more of them.
  • A per-post score. Sentiment tells you the mood. An intent score tells you whether to reply.
  • The sentence that shows the need. You should see it in the list.
  • Approval before posting. If the tool drafts replies, a person should decide what goes out.

Where HearBuyers fits, and where it doesn't

HearBuyers fits if you use keyword monitoring to find prospects. Paste your company website and it infers your product summary, buyer roles, the problems buyers describe, search phrases, competitors and subreddits. You correct whatever it got wrong. It reads public X posts and replies and Reddit posts and comments, starting with the last seven days.

Each post gets a score, the sentence that shows the need and a one-line reason. Matches at or above your threshold (70 by default) get a drafted public reply, plus a DM draft on X. A person edits, approves, copies and posts it. Matches show up in Slack, a daily email digest and a team inbox with stages.

It won't suit you if you need brand reports, emotion analysis, publishing, client accounts or any source beyond X and Reddit. HearBuyers is free for 14 days with no card, then from $19 a month.

The honest case for staying

For brand health, share of voice and agency reporting, Mentionlytics covers much more than HearBuyers does. If lead finding is a small part of how you use it, keep it and add HearBuyers for that part.

Moving your keyword rules over

  1. Pick the Mentionlytics rules you use to find buyers, such as competitor names or "looking for" phrases.
  2. Sign up for HearBuyers and paste your company website.
  3. Compare its suggested searches with your rules and add what's missing.
  4. Add competitors and the subreddits your buyers use.
  5. Set your threshold and connect Slack.
