Later for Reddit alternative: it is shutting down on 1 January 2027
facts about Later for Reddit checked on 17 October 2026 from its own pages
Later for Reddit is shutting down. Its owner announced on 3 October 2026 that new subscriptions are closed and posting stops on 1 January 2027. If you used it to schedule Reddit posts, you need a replacement scheduler, and HearBuyers is not one. It does a different job: it finds people on Reddit and X who are asking for what you sell, scores each post from 0 to 100 for buying intent and drafts a reply that a person approves.
Below you'll find what Later for Reddit did, the dates that matter, and where HearBuyers fits if part of your Reddit work is about leads. The facts come from the shutdown announcement and Later's home and pricing pages, checked on 17 October 2026.

What Later for Reddit did
Later for Reddit started in 2013 as RedditLater.com. It is made by Refinry Software, which says it served over 50,000 users. It scheduled posts to Reddit, suggested the best time to post in each subreddit, picked posting times automatically, proposed cross-posts, helped you find subreddits, supported several Reddit accounts and took bulk uploads from a CSV file.
The last published prices were a free plan with 5 posts a month, Content Creator at $30 a month for 50 posts, Unlimited at $100 a month, and a Business plan by contact.
The shutdown dates
According to the announcement:
- 3 October 2026: announcement. New subscriptions are not allowed.
- 31 December 2026: the last day you can schedule posts for.
- 1 January 2027: posting stops. Subscriptions auto-cancel and the unused portion is refunded pro rata.
- After that: export stays available until access keys are revoked. Data is kept for 90 days and then destroyed.
The notice blames Reddit's change. It says Reddit will start removing developer access for apps on 12 January 2027 and end it for all apps in March 2027, so Later is closing before that happens. For scheduling, the founder points users to postpone.app.
If you still have posts queued, export them before the end of the year.
What to look for in a replacement
- Which job you're replacing. Scheduling posts and finding leads are different jobs. Some tools do one. Few do both well.
- How exposed the tool is to Reddit's changes. A tool that relies on Reddit's developer access faces the same dates as Later. Ask what happens to it in March 2027.
- Sources beyond Reddit. If Reddit access narrows, a second source keeps working.
- Human control. Whatever you use, you should approve anything that posts under your name.
Where HearBuyers fits, and where it doesn't
HearBuyers fits if you posted on Reddit to reach buyers. You paste your company website. HearBuyers infers your product summary, buyer roles, the problems those buyers describe, search phrases, competitors and subreddits, and you fix whatever it got wrong. Then it reads public Reddit posts and comments and public X posts and replies, starting with the last seven days.
Each post gets a score from 0 to 100, along with the sentence that shows the need and a one-line reason. Matches at or above your threshold (70 by default) get a drafted public reply, plus a DM draft on X. A person edits, approves, copies and posts it. Alerts go to Slack, a daily email digest and a team inbox with stages.
It doesn't fit if you need to schedule posts, pick the best posting time, manage several accounts or upload posts in bulk. HearBuyers doesn't post anything for you. Reddit's changes may also affect what HearBuyers can read on Reddit from late 2026. X keeps working either way. Our coverage page says what we read and when we last checked it.
